Electrolux Washer and Dryer: Stacking Safety Requirements

Electrolux washer and dryer: stacking safety requirements — read this important safety alert for full details and affected models.

Electrolux front-load washers and dryers can be stacked to save floor space, but only when using the approved Electrolux stacking kit designed for your specific models. Improper stacking without the correct kit creates a tipping hazard, vibration damage, and voided warranties.

Stacking Requirements

  • Use only the Electrolux-approved stacking kit specified for your washer and dryer model pair
  • The dryer always goes on top — never stack a washer on top of a dryer
  • The stacking kit must be bolted to both the washer top and the dryer base — adhesive or friction alone is not sufficient
  • The washer and dryer must be the same width for proper kit fit — do not mix standard and compact sizes
  • Place the stacked pair on a solid, level floor — not on a raised platform or pedestal

Safety Concerns Without Proper Stacking Kit

An improperly stacked dryer can vibrate off the washer during a spin cycle, fall forward when the door is opened, or shift during a high-spin wash cycle. A falling dryer can cause serious injury and damage both appliances beyond repair. The stacking kit provides mechanical interlock between the two units and prevents any lateral or forward movement.

After Installation

After stacking, run a full washer spin cycle and verify the dryer does not vibrate or shift. Check the stacking kit bolts after the first week of use — they may need re-tightening after the initial settling period. Inspect the mounting bolts every six months during the life of the stacked installation.
