Electrolux Home Products recalled approximately 35,000 Frigidaire-branded electric dryers due to a fire hazard. CPSC Recall #19-147 was issued after reports that the dryer’s wiring could overheat during the drying cycle, creating a fire risk inside the dryer housing.

A manufacturing defect in the wiring harness connecting the heating element to the control board could cause excessive heat buildup at the connection point. This overheating could ignite surrounding insulation and dryer lint, posing a fire risk especially in units with inadequate lint path maintenance.

Affected Models

The recall covers Frigidaire CFRE4120S and FFRE4120S electric dryer models manufactured between March 2018 and June 2019. The model and serial number are located on the label inside the dryer door frame.

  4. A technician will replace the wiring harness with a corrected version.
