Frigidaire range knob recall for gas leak and fire risk (2022) — read this important safety alert for full details and affected models.
Electrolux Home Products recalled approximately 125,000 Frigidaire gas range control knobs due to a risk of gas leak and fire. CPSC Recall #22-089 was issued in 2022 after the front burner control knobs were found to be prone to being accidentally turned on by contact with people, objects, or pets, releasing gas without ignition.
The control knobs on affected ranges could be bumped or turned inadvertently while the oven was not in use, opening the gas valve without activating the igniter. This could lead to gas accumulation in the kitchen, creating a fire or explosion hazard. Electrolux received more than 450 reports of incidents including 28 reports of fires and two injury reports.
Affected Models
The recall covers Frigidaire FFGF3054T, FCRG3052A, and related gas range models manufactured between January 2020 and December 2021. The model number is on the label inside the oven door frame.
