Frigidaire wall oven recall for thermal overload (2014) — read this important safety alert for full details and affected models.
Electrolux Home Products recalled approximately 28,000 Frigidaire and Electrolux single and double wall ovens due to a fire hazard from the convection fan motor. CPSC Recall #14-193 was issued after reports that the convection fan motor could overheat and fail during operation, posing a fire risk.
The convection fan motor in affected ovens could overheat when running in convection or combination bake modes, causing the motor winding insulation to smolder. Several incidents of smoke emission from the back of the oven were reported. The risk increased during self-cleaning cycles when oven temperatures exceeded normal cooking ranges.
